Our Story: 4 Vets. 1 Caterpillar. 26.2 Miles. Zero Dignity.

We’re four Nottingham vet students attempting to break the world record for the fastest marathon in a Caterpillar costume which currently stands at 3 hours 50 minutes.

Before we take on Frankfurt in October, you can spot us trialling the suit at the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham which will be the perfect warm-up for both our legs and our wriggle coordination.

We’re doing this to raise money for a cause we care deeply about: Vets in the Community.

Who We’re Supporting

Vets in the Community provides free routine veterinary care for the pets of homeless and vulnerably housed people in Nottingham.
Clinics are co-ordinated and staffed by vet students, supervised by fully qualified vets and veterinary nurses, who all have the relevant professional indemnity insurance.

They run weekly clinics where anyone who considers themselves homeless or vulnerably housed can bring their pet for health checks, vaccinations, flea and worm treatment, and microchipping which is all free of charge.

Where the Money Goes

Every penny raised will go directly to Vets in the Community to help cover:
• Vaccines, flea & worm treatment
• Microchips
• Medical supplies and basic equipment
• Keeping the clinics running smoothly

Funds will be donated directly to ViC at the end of the campaign, with full transparency throughout.

Why a Caterpillar?

Because apparently just running a marathon wasn’t unhinged enough.
We’ll be wriggling through 26.2 miles in a homemade Caterpillar costume; four vet students, one felt nightmare, and many, many zip ties.
We’ll be documenting the chaos on social media, so stay tuned for training mishaps, costume fails, and at least one Caterpillar collapse.

How You Can Help

If you can spare a pound (or a few), we’d be endlessly grateful. Every little bit adds up and helps ViC continue doing incredible work.
If you can’t donate, please share the fundraiser or follow our journey.

Thanks for supporting us and more importantly, for supporting such a vital service which is incredibly dear to our hearts and positively impacts so many people and animals.
