**Update ** 4/18/23
Amazing update for Catelynn today. Physical therapy helped get her out of bed and into a chair. She shared a ton of smiles, hugs, holding and squeezing your hand when you ask. She even had applesauce. Cate has an extremely long road ahead as she is faced with many obstacles. We hope to get her into the best rehab possible so she can get the care she needs with intense PT and OT. Her daughters class also made cards to hang in her room.We pray she keeps fighting to get stronger. Everyone’s prayers are working and we couldn’t have gotten this far without all of you. We thank you all for your continued prayers. Only up from here! Cate’s army !!!
*****Update ***** While Catelynn still remains in critical condition in the icu on a ventilator she is showing small signs of improvement. This morning she was able to open her eyes on command and squeeze her left hand when asked. While this is great news we know Catelynn still has a long road ahead of her. We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers and will continue to update.
Such great news ❤️
On April 11th, Catelynn suffered a severe stroke unexpectedly while trying to sleep off what was thought to be a migraine. After being life flighted to the best possible hospital in the area, she underwent a 4 hour surgery.Catelynn had a bilateral carotid dissection that led to a massive left sided stroke. A day later, she had increased swelling of the brain and underwent a craniotomy to help relieve some of the swelling. Test are still being done to figure out why this occurred. Because the location where the stroke occurred, Catelynn lost all muscle strength on the right side of her body. As of now she is unable to communicate or follow commands. She is moving the left side of her body and opening her eyes. We are all hopefully that Catelynn will continue to fight and get better each day. She has an army behind her and we are all going to fight this together.
The road to recovery is undoubtedly a long one for Catelynn. While there are still unknowns, it entails many circumstances that require our family and friends to be flexible and able to adjust financially and physically while she recovers. As Catelynn receives the care and attention she needs, unfortunately bills and expenses do not disappear for a single mother.
This page is to support Catelynn for her present financial needs as well as future medical requirements during her recovery. ALL donations will directly support Catelynn and her daughter who has been under the helpful watch and care of family.
All updates will be posted here on this page to allow for the family to focus on Catelynn
