Friday, July 6th, my precious cat/baby boy got out of the litter box and started hissing and yeowling/growling at me. I was instantly alarmed as he has NEVER done so in his life and is a very sweet boy. I knew that something had to be very wrong. I took him to an emergency vet and they found out he had a full urinary block. This can be fatal to cats and I luckily got him proper care before it could massively harm his health.
My baby boy had to spend a few days at the vet where he had a catheter placed and received IV fluids. They also tested for a UTI and other things such as kidney damage and luckily he only had some stones in his bladder which had caused the block. Saturday night his catheter was pulled and he was cleared to come home Sunday.
After his catheter was pulled, the vet tech let me know that he was having a hard time controlling his urination and was urinating freely/constantly and basically just leaking urine all over the place non-stop. I took him home and he continued to do this but was otherwise doing well as that meant he didn't have a block. He also was happily eating.
On Tuesday, July 10th, blood began appearing in his urine and he started growling on occasion. More blood seemed to be mixing in throughout the day and he stopped eating. I called the vet and was told that this can be normal as he heals but to keep on eye on him and if he goes without eating for too long or stops urinating that he will need to come back. Because of this, he also will now be needing more medication (mostly pain meds).
I would do absolutely anything for this cat. I've had him since he was a kitten and he just turned 6 and I couldn't imagine life without him. He always seems to know when I'm upset or sick and will come and give me extra cuddles without hesitation. He's a big giant lap cat and lover and extremely vocal. I have never had a cat like him in my life and I couldn't imagine him not being here. I fell in love with him instantly. He's also a mama's boy and is extremely attached to me. Basically, we both mean the world to each other. If anything were to happen to him I would be completely devastated and the 2 days of him not being at home and cuddling me to sleep were extremely hard. Because he means so much I've also been getting very little sleep so I can make sure I can check on him, get him more food, give meds, etc. I'm putting my all into him and centering all my attention on him.
I'm asking for $2600 to pay off his vet bill, help pay for entirely new food, and account for additional meds he's going to need. I'm also accounting for the fee(s) that GoFundMe takes out. I've been in a very bad financial situation and struggling to find proper employment after being in a car accident that's left me with constant back pain and the inability to be on my feet for long so every single dollar helps me out immensely.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read, donate, and/or share! My baby means so much to me and I want him back to his happy, snuggly, self.
