Cata's Road to Recovery Needs Your Help

This is Cata. She is a street dog in Puerto Peñasco/Rocky Point, Mexico. She needs our help. Cata is about 1 ½ years old and is a mixed breed female. She is calm and submissive. She weighs 43 pounds and has been living with a non-functioning left front leg at least since March. Cata also has an infected sore in her paw pad.

My name is Cynthia Wilson and I live in Puerto Peñasco full-time. When I saw Cata limping on the street in early March my heart was touched and I felt I had to help her. She now has her vaccinations, preventive meds and she’s spayed.

After reviewing CT scan images of her upper spine and front left leg, her primary vet in Puerto Peñasco is sure that she has a fragmented medial coronoid process in her elbow joint as well as some permanent nerve damage from being hit by a car. Think of it as trying to walk when your foot is partially asleep and there's a rock in your shoe.

Cata would make a wonderful pet if she were provided with 1) a home environment that will promote healing of her ulcerated paw, 2) orthopedic surgery to improve the elbow joint, 3) proper physical therapy afterward, and 4) basic training and attention. Donation funds will go towards the medicines, surgery, hospitalization and vet visits required to improve her ability to walk and live a pain-free life. To date her expenses have been:
