Hi all, on Thursday March 2nd, 2023 I was in class working on sanding down parts of my sculpture when the sander caught a piece of the metal I was holding and took my hand with it. In result it sanded my hand sanding down part of my vein and bone in my middle finger and large chunk of skin in my index finger. Immediately after the ambulance was called and I went to the hospital. Today March 3rd, 2023 I went to the specialist on call and he said I need surgery as soon as possible to insure I don’t lose mobility in my fingers so I am scheduled for surgery on Wednesday March 8th, 2023 at 8:15am. Sadly my insurance doesn’t cover specialists and can not cover the surgery because it is not accepted. Doctors my insurance does cover won’t be able to guarantee I get full mobility back in my fingers so I have to pay out of pocket. The estimated cost of the procedure without including the price of anesthesia is $3,309. If anyone could help me pay for this even a bit I would be eternally grateful.
