Cataract Surgery Bills
Donation protected
Hi Everyone! My name is Matt, and I'm here asking for help to pay my recent medical bills that accrued after my Cataract Surgery.
I've had vision issues my entire life. As you may know, I started to go blind at 13 due to detached retinas in both eyes. Long story short, the doctors were able to save my right eye but not my left. I was deemed legally blind when I lost all vision in my left eye.
Over the last four years, my left eye has slowly been hardening as a natural response from my body (which can be pretty painful), and will need to be entirely removed in a few years. But that's a different story for another time.
Also, within the last four years, my one working eye has developed a cataract. I was told in 2019 that it wasn't a concern until it started affecting my right eye's vision. This year the cataract had grown large enough to do so. Every so often, I would blink, and my vision would be foggy until I blinked a few more times to get rid of it.
I finally had the cataract removed from my right eye during the summer of 2022. The results were incredible, and I'm now seeing at my best! I've never been able to see waking up in the morning. I always had to put on glasses or a contact lens. But those days are over, and I am eternally grateful! What would I do if I couldn't watch movies anymore?!
My insurance was able to cover most, but I was hit with many out-of-pocket costs by the surgeon and the hospital, which is why I'm now asking for help. I've never done this sort of thing before, and I'm not expecting much, but something is better than nothing, as they say!
If you decide to donate any amount of your hard-earned money, I will thank you now in advance. Your contribution means the world and helps me more than you know!
Please consider donating; if you can't right now, that's okay too! Even if you just share this with your friends and family, It's just as appreciated! Thank you!
