Cat's End of Life expenses

My wife's name is Cat Cordingley.  She is a mother, a grandmother and the backbone of our family.   She has spent the majority of her life taking care of and helping others, always putting someone else's needs above her own.

A couple of years ago, Cat was diagnosed with liver failure, which eventually turned into liver cancer.    She fought long and hard for the past year in an effort to save her life.    After she was denied a liver transplant in Oklahoma due to the cancer, we drove to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for a second opinion.   An MRI confirmed the worst possible news:   the cancer had spread, could not be treated, and made a transplant impossible.

Feeling defeated, we made our way back home, but at the halfway point, in Kansas City, she collapsed when she stepped out of the car to go to the hotel.    An ambulance brought her to the hospital, where more tests were conducted and we were given even worse news:   Cat's liver had completely failed, and she didn't have months to live, as the doctor at the Mayo Clinic had indicated.   She had days.

As of today (November 3, 2020), Cat is in hospice care, where she is being made comfortable during the time she has left to live.    Of course, none of this was planned.    We thought we had more time, but time has run out.    Cat and I are far from home, don't know anyone in Kansas City, and are going through a major life-changing experience without friends and family nearby for support.

Since Cat has been so sick for so long with a number of different medical issues, she wasn't able to qualify for life insurance to cover the expenses for which people would need life insurance.    This fundraiser will be used to cover the following costs:

1.  Cremation expenses, when that time comes.
2.  Medical bills not covered by insurance
3.  Expenses incurred during this unscheduled extended layover in Kansas City
4.  Any potential loss of income to cover regular household expenses back in Oklahoma, which still have to be covered while we are in Kansas City

It is not in my nature to ask people for help, or money, especially during this pandemic when so many people are struggling.    However, the need is real.
