This little black kitten we named Ninja was abandoned in a park in the Modesto area. There are a few feral cats out there but Ninja is a very friendly 5 month old kitten. When a volunteer went out to trap Ninja she realized something was very wrong. Ninja was dragging her rear legs. She couldn't walk but still dragged herself out of the bushes purring.
   Ninja was taken to an emergency vet and an xray showed that she had been shot with a small caliber handgun and the bullet was lodged above her spine. If she was to be saved she needed immediate surgery.
  During surgery the bullet was found in her chest area. The bullet was removed and the muscle  that was torn was repaired. She also had a large blood clot pressing on her spinal cord and that was removed.
  When she was found she had no tail movement and very little movement in her back feet. She can now lift her tail a little  and move her feet. She is also pooping on her own. 
  She will have a long road of physical therapy and medications but she is so brave and strong I'm sure she will pull through. She was a favorite of the veterinary center.
