*UPDATE ON SHUFFLE'S HEALTH* - Vets have x-rayed stomach, bowels show alot of gas build up and a potential fecal blockage in lower bowel, blood work confirms no issues with other organs, and the bets are confident she is having a minor GI issues, medication and monitoring have been advised with a potential need to return if symptoms don't settle down in the next 16 hours, but prognosis seems good.
Now we wait, hope she gets better - we would still appreciate help covering the costs as we've spent around $2000 so far.
Thank you again to anyone who has donated, it has ensured we could get the initial x-rays so it goes a long way.
Hi my name is Raen (Kaylei) the proud owner of the beautiful senior cat in the photo, her name is Shuffle and she needs your help.
What help do we need?
With ongoing health issues, Shuffle has been to the vets around 6 times in the last four months for what we thought was just a sinus infection.
After several rounds of antibiotics and some blood tests and lab work, we discovered 2 weeks ago she has hyperthyroidism - common and treatable, we started her on medication and she had seemed to improve.
Unfortunately there seems to be something else - in the last 24 hours she has developed symptoms of a gastrointestinal blockage, we rushed her to the vets after sever vomiting episodes, she was administered anti-nausea medication, we were advised to take her back/or to emergency vets immediately if she showed any signs of continuing to vomit, she took a turn for the worst and after rushing her to emergency we had to leave as they quoted us $2000+ just to monitor her for the night.
She made it through the night and now we go back to her regular vets for emergency imaging to see if she needs surgery, we do not know right now, but we know whatever the issue is, we need help - Unfortunately I had to stop working a year ago for health related issues, and my partner is on apprenticeship wages, not enough for us to survive, pay rent and bills with ongoing vet bills on-top, we are barely above water as is, we are still paying what we can towards vet fees, but this is why we need help.
Any and ALL funding goes directly to the veterinary care costs, anything left over after diagnostics, surgery and any potential on going health related costs have been settled, WILL BE DONATED TO A CAT RESCUE LOCAL TO VICTORIA AUS.
I want to thank you for taking the time to read this, it would mean the world to us if you could even donate a dollar, every cent counts towards paying whatever it costs to help us save her life and ensure she gets better.
