Mission Statement

Cat Cowboy is a series about a young cat named Tobi. She's tasked to save her dying town and finds herself on an epic journey of self discovery. This adventure is full of wacky weird wonderful imagination, and grounded real uncomfortable truths that Tobi learns to face.

We are a group of young artists on our own journeys and trying to find our footing in this tumultuous world. This exploration can often feel overwhelming, scary, confusing, and sometimes unreal. In a world that we humans don’t fully understand, we are constantly demanded to know oneself, to have a secure, confident identity, when in reality, uncertainty is a crucial driving force of life. Exploring things that scare us, inspire us, confuse us, are what makes the journey so much more fulfilling and enlightening.

We wanted to create something that displayed our love for bizarre, weird, whimsical, childlike wonder, and also the balance between growth, identity, and purpose. Something that reflects a bit of everyone’s journey, through the lens of a hard shelled cat and her trusty steed.

Series Summary

In 110 years…

After humanity’s extinction, mother nature has reclaimed the planet. The Earth we know is now warped and mutated, scarred by centuries of human conflict and climate collapse.

In this post-human ecosystem, a small cat-cowboy society has found a way to survive: raising cattle and farming apples. But as their trees start to die off, their way of life begins to unravel.

Without apples, they can’t feed their cattle.

Without cattle, they have no milk.

Without milk, they have no food.

The town is starving, and amongst them are two unlikely best friends: UH, an Unnamed Horse with endless optimism and heart, and Tobi, a cynical, sharp-tongued cat determined to prove she’s better than everyone. They’re outcast by their town, but they find love, laughter, and belonging in each other.

When the last cow in their town dies, Tobi and Uh are tasked to venture into the unknown, find the last apple seed, and save cat cowboy town. On their adventure, they encounter a myriad of obstacles and characters, prompting personal growth in ways they never expected.
