A couple weeks ago, I saw a Facebook post from Vivian Chang. She needed help for a kitten with a horrible eye infection at her mother in law’s home in Colton, CA. I reached out to Vivian that day and was able to rescue the kitten, and Vivian and I started making plans to get the colony trapped and fixed.
As often happens in TNR, the project is turning out to be much bigger than anticipated. I estimate that there are 10-12 adults and 15-18 kittens at the home, and many are very sick. Renee Bernal has now joined our team. In the past two weeks, two cats have been TNR’ed and another 6 kittens are receiving care with Renee and myself.
We need funds for medical care and spay/neuter for the colony. we have secured 5 spots for free services and are utilizing all of the vouchers available to keep costs down, but we have already spent $284 (not including gas) and expect that this number will rise significantly. At least one kitten will need to have an eye removed, and that alone will be several hundred dollars.
With your support, we would like to get these cats fixed, vaccinated and healthy. We will adopt out as many kittens as possible and return the others to their caregiver’s home where they will be fed.
Thank you so much, from Sherri, Renee, and Vivian
