Cat Barbos needs your help

Barbos is only a little more than a year old. He was a perfectly healthy lovely boy until 2 weeks ago. I woke up one terrible morning and found him lying limply on the floor completely covered in his urine, including all his face, and in his blood on him and all around the place… I’ll remember this moment for the rest of my life…

We headed to the emergency, where he was diagnosed with complete urinary blockage: he simply could go pee. He fixed and send home the very evening with a warning that he might re-obstruct any time soon.

The next morning, we were back. He still couldn’t go pee. His kidney values were so high, that the machine the hospital had couldn’t even read the value… I was told that his kidneys could be permanently damaged if the value wouldn’t come down quickly. And yet he kept fighting. After 3 devastating days in ER, his values were back to normal and his blockage resolved. Up to this moment, it cost us a fortune – we paid $2,500.00.

At home, he wasn’t doing very well… He was very weak, refused to eat and drink and had puss around his penis. And here starts the worst part… ER doctors we visited the following morning examined him and told me that he is not re-obstructed and we simply have to wait, what’s happening to him is normal. I begged for antibiotics, but was assured that it’s not an infection and send home…  It turned out it was an infection, but a week later.

He was getting better and better, and almost started running around, but then the infection took better of him. He became very weak and limply again.

This was the 4th time we were admitted to the hospital in a little more than a week… This kidney values were rocketing again, he had a fewer, but it was not a re-obstruction. Doctors didn’t know what was happening to him. The analyses the next day showed an infection. Infecting after catheterization is a common complication and is easily preventable by taking antibiotics, yet, he started receiving the antibiotics a week late.

After 2 days in ER, the infection is fixed, his kidneys are miraculously healthy, no permanent damage done. But… While inserting the catheter this urethra got a tear… His urine is leaking inside him. He needs a catheter inside for a couple of weeks. It might heal by itself if he’s lucky, or he may need an additional operation.

He is a strong boy… Basically, what damaged him most, were the lack of antibiotics and catheter insertion.

I’m invoiced $7,000.00 up to date and will probably need more in the near future. Yet, he is a beautiful young lovely boy, and I can’t let him go just because I don’t have the means to save him…

Here are a few photos of him before his happened:

He means so much to me. I just can’t bear the thought of not having him around just because the treatment is so expensive. The bills are growing every day and I’m just devastated. Yet, the main thing now is to keep him alive.

I would be very grateful for any help you can provide to him, just to save his life!
