Cat & Steven's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
Catherine Fink and Steven Rousseau have suffered an unimaginable tragedy and need our help.  Steven collapsed at home on Friday, December 27th.  He was on the floor and unresponsive.  Cat called 911, and he was rushed to  the hospital.  As of the morning of January 1st, he is still unconscious and being kept sedated.  He was diagnosed as having a massive stroke due to Carotid Artery Dissection.  A craniotomy had to be performed to relieve pressure on his brain from swelling.  His prognosis is not good.  The entire left hemisphere of his brain  is damaged.  He will probably be in the ICU for weeks, perhaps months.  Currently, the medical professionals are doubtful he will ever walk again.  It is unlikely that he will be able to talk or even understand speech.  He will need extensive rehabilitative therapy and ongoing living assistance.

Fortunately, Steven has medical coverage, but as you know, that doesn't cover enough these days.  The co-pay and out-of-pocket expenses are going to be enormous.  We need to help.  We also need to help Cat.  Amidst working, continuing her education, and now caring for Steven, it's imperative that she remain healthy.  Please help them out however you can.  Believe me, I know what it is to be broke with no end in sight, but any donation will help and be greatly appreciated.  Please also share this with your friends.  You never know who this might touch.
