Castleconnell Boat Club Flood Aid

CCBC is a non-profit organisation that relies on volunteers and fundraising to keep going. Recent flooding has destroyed the small club house. Here you can see volunteers braving the water to rescue our ergs by launch!
During the floods, the club house was under several feet of water. Sandbags were soon overcome, and we were forced to evacuate the rowing machines by launches, as water continued to rise. Meanwhile, extremely polluted water found its way into everything, toilets, carpets, floors, plug sockets, wellies, blades, you name it!
It's only now in March that we've been able to start the clean up. You can see from the pictures that we've begun the big task of stripping and clearing. While insurance will cover some of the damage to the building, contents will not be included.
For anyone who would like to help, or who might be able to help us replace some of our non-insured contents (like the kitchen equipment, kettle, fridge etc) please get in touch via the Facebook page.
We have created this page to faciliate anyone who would like to contribute any small amount towards the clean up and repair of our club. You can also show your support by sharing.
