Help Cassius Beat Cancer

I am heart broken to be making this request, as anyone who knows me, knows that the most important thing in the world to me is Cassius. He has been through so much in his 9 years of life to include; a foreign body surgery, a surgery to fix an extra hepatic liver shunt, and discosponylitis which eventually lead to an extensive surgery to place metal plates in his back to stabilize his crumbling spine.

About 8 months ago, he began limping on his right hind leg and the veterinary neurologist we took him to found a mass in his right hind leg and he underwent a CT scan and other testing to determine if it is cancerous and if the cancer has spread to other parts of his body. At that point, it was determined to be a problem with his nerves which caused him to lose all muscle mass in his hamstring and calf and they also determined he has laryngeal paralysis.

Cassius was seen a month ago for a surgery consult to fix the laryngeal paralysis and surgery was scheduled for this morning, November 16, 2023. I just received a call from the vet who told me they found a cancerous mass in his lung . They have to do a CT scan to determine if the cancer has spread. If it hasn’t, they said they can remove the tumor and do the laryngeal tie back procedure to open his airway.

Cassius is the most loving dog in the world and he deserves a fighting chance. I know times are tough for a lot of people right now and while I am willing to spend every last penny I have to give him the chance he deserves, we are asking for donations as the current estimate for the treatment is $11,261.38.
