On March 5th, 2021 our lives changed forever. My daughter in law Cassie, mother to 2 of my grandchildren, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Everything from that day has happened so quickly, they really haven’t had time to let any of this truly sink in. They are going from doctor visit to doctor visit. Last Friday, Cassie had her first chemotherapy treatment. She has 6 months more to go, following that treatment she will have to have surgery. She is being so brave and my son Joe has left work to be by her side throughout this ordeal. Her daughter’s Lily (6) and Charlotte (4) have been her biggest supporters. This has been so difficult on the family already, Cassie just celebrated her 30th birthday in January, she is so young to have to endure this. So not only do they need to navigate through this diagnosis, but they need to do it during a global pandemic. They have many challenges ahead and need all of the help and support, we as a community, can give them. I am asking for help with medical bills and day to day expenses as Joe and Cassie figure out how to deal with the uncertainty of their situation. Any amount would help.
