Patrolman Cassie Johnson

On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 1, 2020, Patrolman Cassie Johnson was shot in the line of duty while responding to a parking complaint. After undergoing surgery and many hours in critical condition it was determined that Patrolman Cassie Johnson cannot sustain life on her own and the decision was made to remove her from life support. In her final act as a true hero Patrolman Johnson will be donating her organs to save the lives of others. Patrolman Johnson has been an officer with the Charleston, West Virginia Police Department since January 2019. Prior to that Patrolman Johnson worked as a Humane Officer for the department. This account has been set up to ease the burden on Cassie’s family during this difficult time and the days ahead. All donations will go directly to Cassie’s family to help with medical, funeral and other expenses they will incur.
