Cassie (Banks) Riley

Hi. I'm Cassie's husband, Patrick. Cassie was diagnosed with stage 3 adenocarcinoma in 2016 at the age of 44. She did chemo and a whole lot of radiation and kicked its butt in 2017. In 2022 her cancer came back with a vengeance bringing with it a pleural effusion. She did chemo and immunotherapy for over a year until January of '24 when her oncologist stopped all treatments for ineffectiveness. Since then Cassie's health has steadily declined. She's had multiple thoracentesis, a pleurx catheter, had to have a stent placed to open her airway and recently a tracheostomy because the tumor is compressing the nerve that controls her vocal cords not allowing to open. We have an appointment at Ohio State coming up to look into clinical trials. If she doesn't qualify or if it doesn't work she's going to be forced to go back to the old school nuclear bomb option chemo which she'll do as long as she can. But the day will come when she will say she's had enough. That's why I'm starting this GoFundMe: to cover her eventual funeral services and perhaps pay some of her medical bills and other expenses.
