Help Cassidy With Medical Bill
My best friend in the world has been dealing with an absolute whirlwind of medical mishaps and (for lack of a better word) crazy situations in regards to her health since July of 2020. I asked her to write a little bit about it so I wouldn't miss any of the details or over/under-share what's going on. I've attached a few photos of the various stages of her swelling and bruising at the bottom of this just so you can see how much she needs this. I'm awful with words, but my best friend needs help.
Cassidy is the best human being I've ever met, and would do anything in the world for anybody who needs it. I really can't even fathom what's happening to her or why. She deserves nothing but kindness and love, and she HAS to get this surgery in order to be okay. I can't stress the severity.
Nobody is comfortable asking for help, but this is a necessity, and I am here to ask for help for her. She has to have YET ANOTHER surgery and it was scheduled for January 20th, yet unlike the others this one isn't being financially taken care of and was cancelled due to payment not being covered. It also happens to be the most invasive and scary one yet. Please continue reading to hear her story, and please help however you can. I don't know what I'd do without her.
"On July 29th I had my wisdom teeth removed, resulting in a nerve being snagged and ripping a hole in my maxillary sinus. I then had a 2nd procedure to repair the hole which resulted in developing a hematoma and infection that required an emergency surgery to remove said blood clot and have a drainage tube placed in my cheek.
I proceeded to have an infection and further abscesses form that required 2 more surgeries to repair. A total of 5 surgeries in 4 months, many rounds of antibiotics, losing 35lbs from not being able to eat, a lisp and droop in my speech and mouth, swelling and light sensitivity in my eye, and the eventual spread of infection to other parts of my face.
After being referred to an ENT, who through a nasal scope, nasal swab and culture, and CT scan was able to determine that I have a form of MRSA that is filling every sinus cavity on the left side of my face. It is resistant to antibiotics but there were a few left to try.
We tried 3 more antibiotics which made me incredibly sick and led to me seeing a new specialist.
I now have a 6th procedure scheduled for 1/20/21 where they will go through my nose and drill through the bone near my eye and in my forehead to allow for drainage and suction out the infection. A week later I will go in for an office visit for them to numb my sinus and suction any built up blood clots or sign of infection. I lost my insurance the day after my wisdom tooth removal and everything was being covered by a physician up until this surgery.
Now being a carrier of MRSA, I’m facing lifelong effects."
