Cassidy Stillwell-Lung Cancer
Donation protected
Hi Everyone! As many of y’all have seen by now our sweet friend and coworker has been diagnosed with lung cancer! I’ve been asked a couple times if we had a Gofundme so I figured I would set one up to allow opportunities to help support and donate! Please help this sweet young mother of 2 through this difficult season! Below is just a little bit of her story!
“Most of this year I have been sick. I thought I had pnemonia for a few months and was even treated for it, now I'm no longer sure I had it at all. I went to my Dr on May 19 because I could barely walk, I had aching joints, was having back and abdominal spasms since mid March. My Dr. Immediatly ordered me a Chest X Ray and CT Scan. He called me hrs later to let me know I had a mass on my right lung, and lytic lesions(holes) in my ribs, right femur, pelvis and spine. We made my first apt at MD Anderson for June 6th, I thought I was there for a consult but didn't leave until yesterday the 26th. I had many many tests and scans done. I've had a CT Scan, MRI, Head CT, head MRI, bone density, bone biopsy, and more chest xrays. I learned I have way more lesions than initially though, they are throughout my whole body. My right lung keeps retaining fluid so I have a catheter in it that I have to drain daily. I was able to have a procedure done on my spine called kyphoplasty, because I have 25% bone loss in my lumbar 1 they were able to use this kyphoplasty (cement) to fill in the hole and aliviate me of some of my pain. All of this is obviously very new to me, I've never been in a hospital without going in to have a baby. The drs said my lung cancer is treatable not curable, hopefully soon I will get the medicine I need for recovery.”-Cassidy
I know Cassidy and her family will be grateful and so thankful for any support! Please let me know if you have any questions! Thank you again for all your thoughts and donations!!
