Cassidy Scott is 27 years old. She's been fighting chronic necrotizing pancreatitis for a year now. She's been in and out of the hospital since November of 2024. The pain from this illness has been completely debilitating and has caused other issues that were just found out 2 weeks ago from a referral to Barnes. They did an MRI which has now also revealed gastroparesis, Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome, Discontinuity of the pancreatic head (refers to the Disconnected Pancreatic Duct Syndrome (DPDS)), and a blood clot in the spleen.
She hasn't been able to work or care for her two small children as she used to. She's a single mother currently depending on the help of her family to take care of her and her babies every single day. She has two small children that are fighting this disease with her: Lyric, age 3, and Zayden, who is 1 and a half.
There are certain medicines she needs to even get through day-to-day life routines, and her insurance refuses to cover some of them, forcing her to turn to family for help. If for some reason they cannot, she faces the fear of going without the medicine or the fear of having to be admitted to the hospital because she can't get her medicine. She's had to have a feeding tube placed back in so she's able to get nutrients, calories, and protein to keep her alive due to not being able to eat actual food.
And now, with 2 more surgeries coming up and a very long road to recovery, she is needing some support. Thank you for hearing her story and helping her and her kids get through this very difficult time. Even if you can't help with a donation, please keep this family in your prayers as they are much needed.
