Cassidy Jack Small

This is NOT something I have Ever done before but we are struggling and it was suggested that I should put this out to social media to see if we can raise some much needed funds to assist us with burying James’s son, my beautiful Step Son, “Cassidy Jack Small”.

As many of you know James and I tragically lost our 21 year old son two weeks ago. Cassidy was a loving brother to Sabrina & Alex. He was a Step Brother to Loren, Madelynne & Caleb. Brother In Law to Courtney & Shane. Uncle to Laken, Cove, Avalon & Beckett and friend to Everyone he ever met.

We had the unfortunate experience of having police arrive at our door with the devastating news that Cassidy Jack Small had passed away that same Friday morning. We were absolutely devastated…. Our worlds collapsed and we were thrown into a state of overwhelming grief & despair along with his family in SA upon their receipt of this same news.

We have been busy communicating with the coroners office, funeral home and making funeral arrangements with the other side of Cassidy’s family unit. 

Unfortunately, Cassidy’s funeral expenses are still quite considerable despite half costs being met by a member of Cassidy’s SA family and additional costs relevant to the funeral & wake covered through a go fund me page from a close friend of Cassidy’s SA family unit. This still leaves James and I with around $10,000 (all inclusive) to find in order for us to pay balance if costs and attend Cassidy’s interstate funeral to burry our son. 

We are currently drowning in expenses as we have carefully considered the other side of the family rather than ourselves, their expenses collectively and what Cassidy’s wishes would have been if he were here to make them. This is NOT about us it is purely about Cassidy’s wishes hence why the funeral will occur in Whyalla SA (home town Cass predominantly grew up in)

Any funds raised will go directly towards our side of expenses, flights, accommodation and any other expenses in order to attend our Sons funeral.

We are currently drowning financially and just to complicate things even further we had a serious accident three weeks ago where we wrote off our family car and a borrowed trailer moving houses. The move was essential in order to adequately care for my MIL who suffers badly from Dementia and has been living with us now fulltime for the past 7 months so we can care for her. In order to attend and finalise Cassidys funeral we have the added expenses of placing her into a respite care facility. Everything is financially top heavy and we are struggling on all levels at present to cope.

If any of our friends and family are in a position to assist in any way at all we would be extremely grateful. Every little bit will help and normally we would NEVER ask. 

We just want to give Cassidy a beautiful, peaceful and meaningful farewell from this earth and to enable the start of the healing process for all who loved him.
