Cassandra Labelle fights Leukemia
Donation protected

Cassandra began experiencing fevers with limping and knee pain November 15, 2017.
After multiple doctor and ER visits, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a cancer of the blood and bone marrow on Jan 17th, 2018.
Leukemia in children is often treatable with chemotherapy. Treatment duration is roughly 2.5 years which includes multiple bone marrow aspiration/biopsies and lumbar punctures. Cassandra was fortunate to have a port-a-cath inserted fairly quickly to avoid ongoing traumatizing IVs and bloodwork needle pokes.
She began treatment right away with her first round of chemotherapy on Jan 18th, 2018.
Richard and Shirley will need to manage caring for Cassandra through 2.5 years of immunosuppressing chemotherapy treatments while continuing to provide a structured home life for their 2 older children, Desiree and Melodie. Travel to Sick Kids Hospital, parking, lost wages, meals and accommodations will be cumbersome and financially draining for The Labelles during Cassandra’s lengthy medical plan. The first 9 months involve intense chemotherapy sessions and the remaining 20 months involve maintenance treatments. Children heal better when they can be supported by their parents. Full-time attention and presence will give Cassandra the strength she needs to complete treatment. Please support The Labelle family by completing an online donation.
