Greetings Friends & Family of Cassandra,
We have created this GoFundMe campaign so you can support Cassandra as she makes a brave decision in her grief / recovery process... Cassandra has been accepted into the Golden Willow Retreat Center (GWRC - pictured above) in Arroyo Hondo, NM. For those of you who know her, this is a major turning point to ask for help in this way.
My name is Costen Aytes and along with my partner, Leslie Jones, and Cassandra's dear friend Erin O'Neill we are reaching out on Cassandra's behalf to ask for your support in this next phase of Cassandra's harrowing and epic journey of the last 9 months.
Since the tragic events earlier this year, Cassandra has come to Boulder, Colorado, where she has pulled herself up by her bootstraps emotionally, spiritually, and financially. I've been witness to this journey firsthand and am in sheer awe of her warrior spirit; facing adversity after adversity, working very labor intensive jobs, all while trying to wade through the grief of the horrific death of her child. Cassandra is a warrior, a survivor, and she has accomplished so much in her life, on her own, that her identity has been tied to this notion that she can do it all herself. She is now having to let go of that identity and put herself in the hands of others - the Golden Willow Retreat Center and You - her friends and family.
Cassandra needs a place to rest, to be held, and not worry about the bills pilling up and the stresses of everyday life, so that she can grieve, heal and be able to sleep again.
For those of you who know, GWRC is not cheap - $750/ day. Cassandra has already qualified for a financial scholarship for the max amount but she still needs assistance to cover the remainder of her 9 day stay. On top of those expenses there is the lost work income while she is away and the ongoing stress of living month to month with no health safety net.
Cassandra needs your financial support ASAP. She is registered to be admitted to GWRC this coming Monday September 9th!
The Goal is $5,000 so that together we fund the remaining GWRC cost, money to offset missed work, and a small cushion for when she gets back... If we can each contribute $100 this goal is possible (of course anything you can contribute helps) but the more the better, so dig deep! Let's give her a big cushion!!!
