Hey Friends! I am looking for your help and loving support as I work my way through Mortuary School and earning my Death Doula Certification.
You may not have known this about me, but I am a little obsessed with death. A little odd, I know. For years I have been immersed in learning more about historical deaths, natural deaths, oddities around death, familial/cultural traditions of grieving. I have done a lot of this research on my own accord of sheer fascination. Death is this beautiful conundrum to me. It is the great equalizer, the thing we ALL have to face one day and no matter what going into the unknown will never truly be easy. Losing a loved one OR even losing our own life is so hard. The wonderful news is that there are many advocates to help people as we make the transition out of this reality: Funeral Directors, Hospice, death Care workers, Death Doulas, etc....... and I have decided that I want to be one of those advocates!
I am currently attending school online full-time at Arapahoe Community College, I am working through one more semester of my pre-requisites and then will be applying to the Mortuary Science program which will be starting in Fall 2021. When I graduate in the Summer of 2022, I will have an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science!
(Note: I have a portion of tuition covered through unsubsidized loans, there is not a lot left in my Federal Aid, since I have my BFA already. Apparently, if you try to get these degrees in this order, you will not have as much financial aid loans available, for as long of a time.)
This coming Summer 2021, while I have a bit of reprieve before the program starts, I am planning on taking Alua Arthur's Going with Grace Death Doula Training Program. Alua and a few other inspiring Death Care Innovators are a major reason I have found myself on this path.
So, I am here, present and honestly asking you to help me in this journey. Most of my work for 2020 was cancelled (Event Industry). Between being in school full-time, upcoming moving expenses and student loans; making ends meet can be challenging. Income is a challenge for everyone right now, life is a challenge. But, I appreciate your support in any way possible.

*Paying the rest of tuition and lab fees on time (est. $4,000)
*Paying for my Death Doula Certification Summer 2021 (est. $1,700)
*Making ends meet in order to keep school a priority. (est. $3,000)
~ Any donation is so helpful $5 here, $10 there, it all adds up and takes me another step closer to my goal.
~ For anyone who makes a donation of $75 or more - I will offer a private dance lesson virtually, any style (modern, aerial, acro, tap, hip hop, burlesque, etc.) OR a basic consultation of death planning services virtually(creating a first draft of service planning and will).
