Caspie's Campaign

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Debbie Travers. On Friday, December 30, my dog Caspie, a loving Pyrennes was on her daily walk through the trails on our family farm in Kildare Capes, PEI. At the trailhead exit, she turned back into her woods and did not come back. We found her dead in an illegal snare. A snare set by a local trapper who did not have permission to set this barbaric device on our property. Caspie had no chance. She was strangled to death and is gone. This happened less than 250 meters from our home. My husband and I carried her lifeless body back to the house, leaving many tears along the way.
While we might be in the grieving process for a while, we are burdened with great anger. Our backyards are not safe for our pets or even our children. The offender was charged with trespassing. That's it, trespassing! We have partnered with Animal Justice of Canada who will use the funds generated to help lobby our government to abolish trapping or at least to make it illegal to set snares on private property without permission from the land owner. I hope you will help Caspie and my family make a change, a change that will protect our pets, and our children and help stop this brutal form of hunting.
