Hi, my name is Patrick and I am starting this fundraiser to support Bobby McGee's mother and family to lessen the burden of expenses associated with funeral arrangements and returning Bobby back to the states for his final resting place.
On January 25th, 2023 our dear brother, son, partner and best friend Bobby McGee left us without any notice, along with heavy hearts. Bobby started off his short, but full life in the middle of Kansas where he grew up being the “creative smart kid” with a big smile and full heart. He loved his mother, brother and stepdad to no end and never forgot them along the way.
After high school he attended The University of Kansas to complete film school (while allowing him an outlet to be with others who were like-minded and understood what his huge smile and creative mind were all about) He graduated with many respectable awards and lifelong impacts in the film that he carried with him his entire career. His short film, movies, and production credits within the creative community will be seen and felt for many years to come, leaving his legacy and work behind as a reminder.
After Lawrence, he was involved in several more film and production jobs in Kansas City where he found his passion behind the camera and editing all while building lifelong friendships and becoming an outspoken catalyst with his passions focused on environmental and political issues that he strongly wanted to change or promote.
While in Kansas City, Bobby felt the itch to try, explore and touch more of the planet he called home and landed even further from his family and friends in the states—- Berlin, Germany where he was able to form his own community of amazing individuals and second family circle. He brought with him his infectious smile, huge heart and even his love for the American Thanksgiving holiday which he would share and cook for his new family overseas.
While in Germany Bobby touched and impacted even more lives, more film and art projects and gave many more people the hope of love and passion around this huge smile and large heart. His contagious personality, passion for art and charisma was never questioned along with his loyalty to his Mom and family back in the states. He always found the time to circle back to that small town in Kansas to say hello and give once again that huge smile. He will be forever missed and forever loved by all.
Many of you have asked how you can help, and with that, we are asking for your assistance in donating what you can to assist his mother and family in returning Bobby back home to the states. All of your donations will go to Bobby's mother to assist with burial costs and final agreements associated with the end of life expenses. We can't thank you enough for your love and support!
