Casita (P) Utica Fundraiser

Casita Utica has been HOME to so many and we need your URGENT support to raise funds for the last four members who have been evicted and need to relocate July 31st.

Since 2014, our HOME has been transitional housing for many folks coming through NYC and many people needing shelter and community. We’ve been a hub for mutual aid, political education, hosted fundraising concerts, shows, dinners, celebrated birthdays and farmed every green patch available. Many projects and creative ideas have been birthed in Casita Utica.

We’ve created a fam, a real functional and dysfunctional community, and respite for many BIPOC Queer and Trans folks in NYC and beyond.

Since 2014, this space has housed folks in need of a home. It’s gone through many iterations and formations. She’s historically been temperamental and has given us lots of issues from no heat for long winter months, faulty electricity, absurd gas and electric bills, flooding, and an abusive slumlord.

We’ve held on and fought tooth and nail, but we’ve finally been served our eviction notice and have to leave by July 31st. We’re needing to urgently fundraise to have enough funds for all of us to move out and pay for our outstanding gas and electric bills.

Besides needing to raise funds, we want to spend the last month commemorating all of our shared time here and build some final memories with y’all. We’ve got the mirrored wall, pole, driveway, and 70s themed living room to do it up.
