THANKING YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!

Please Read our Story! Our Trial and Testimony!

My longtime boyfriend, Casey( Aka Keith Blunt ) was diagnosed over 5 years ago, with  Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) The disease has rapidly progressed in the last year and he is in desperate need of a lung transplant, possibly a double lung transplant!!
** IPF  is a specific form of progressive fibrosing (scarring) of interstitial lung tissue that has no known cause or cure.  Life expectancy of IPF  is about 2 to 5 years.  ( Basically he is rapidly losing function of his lungs ) www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org

** In January, he was added on the lung transplant list at Cedar Sinai.
** On 2/14, we received a call for him to get the lung transplant.
** 30 hours later, we were told that the donors lungs were not healthy enough, so we will have to continue to wait for the right ones.

Asking for Prayers.. that we get that call again and that it’s soon... his health continues to decline.

** This last year, has been very much a struggle for both of us.  He had to move from his home where he was managing a sober living a men’s group home. He also needed to take a leave of absence from his job and move in with me, so I could take care of him.  I have had to work two jobs to try and make ends meet as I care for him.
** He is currently on oxygen 24/7 and has been doing daily pulmonary treatments to help treat the symptoms of the disease.  There have been many trips back and forth to Cedars and to his specialist for continuing monitoring and testing to get him added to the lung transplant list.
** Continuous treatment of IPF involves medications, supportive therapy, and lung transplantation.  Those  who have a lung transplant have a mortality rate of about 50% to 56% after five years.   He does have a chance at living as long as 10 or more years.
*** The Lung Transplant Team is requiring me to care for him 24/7 for at least 3 months or more, once he gets out of ICU and Rehabilitation.  This will depend on his recovery and if his body does not reject the lungs. There is no one else to help. His family is unable to help us at this time. He will be having multiple pre/post surgery follow up visits to see the specialists as well as out patient pulmonary rehabilitation therapy.  We will have a post surgery scheduled regimen of multiple anti-rejection medications for the rest of his life! There may even be possible setbacks .  All of this travel pre/post transplant, to doctors, specialists, treatments and tests will mainly be at Long Beach Memorial or Cedars-Sinai in Beverly Hills.
Post Transplant: I will not be able to work for 3 months or more, as he will need my assistant.

*** As you can imagine, our lives have been turned upside down and thankfully we give each and every day to God! Let ☝ His Will be done and in His timeing!!  We pray daily and TRUST God in all things!  We believe our FAITH moves mountains!! He has a plan!! ✝️
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

*** THE FUNDS RAISED will help cover additional  medical  expenses that the insurance will not cover; traveling expenses. ( traveling back and forth from Costa Mesa to Long Beach Memorial,Cedar Sinai in Beverly Hills.)  Also, housing assistance as I may need to pay additional out of pocket costs to stay close to the hospital.  Lastly, All of our bills and rent, as they are quickly becoming overwhelming.
** My goal, is to raise enough money to remove any and all  financial burden so that I may be able to freely, without stress and worry, be by Casey’s side the entire time.  We have a very long road ahead of us with all the pre/post transplant, treatments and recovery.

** Together, with all the stress, anxiety and unknowns associated with this disease.  We have realized the importance of being an organ donor  and what that means to families facing terminal diseases.
❤️As part of our  pledge to raise awareness for all families facing the same reality, we would like to ask each one of you to take a moment and look at your driver’s license to see if you are registered organ donors.  If you have not registered as an organ donor, please give it serious consideration www.donatelife.net
(Organ Donation Statistics: 114,000+ men, women and children on the national transplant waiting list as of April 2018; 34,770 transplants were performed in 2017; 20 people die each day waiting for a transplant; 95% of adults believe in organ donation while only 54% are registered organ donors; Every 10 minutes another person is added to the waiting list; Only 3 in 1,000 people die in a way that allows for organ donation.)
*****.One donor can save 8 peoples’ lives!

We feel blessed to know that Casey is one of those who will benefit from someone’s choice to become a donor.  It’s a gift to know that you have been given a second chance at life!!

We thank you so much for your donations, prayers, friendship and support.
