Hey everyone. My name is Owen, and I’m taking to GFM to seek your assistance. My wife, Casey, was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, which has spread to her ovaries.

Within 2 days of seeing an oncologist, she was operated on, and had her ovaries and part of her colon removed - however we still don’t know the full extent of this malicious diseases spread.

With the surgery and upcoming treatments, she will be unable to work for several months - during which time she will not be earning her usual income. Whilst she is unable to work, we can’t continue to pay the bills as we normally would.

With 2 young children to look after (one of whom is special needs), as well as our normal bills and expenses, my income alone does not cover our needs. Unfortunately, I also earn too much for Centrelink to assist us.

I am hate asking, but I’m not too proud to admit, we need help. Anything you can spare will be appreciated and will relieve the financial stress we now face.

This money will directly be helping us keep the bills paid, and our kids fed whilst we wrestle through what is likely to be a tumultuous next few months. It will also go towards specialist costs, and any costs associated with treatments.
