On Friday, June 17, the world lost one of the most kind, patient, giving and genuine humans. Casey Skudin’s life was devastatingly cut short when a tree fell on the vehicle he was driving while visiting the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina with his wife, Angela, and sons Ben (19) and CJ (10). Angela and Ben received minor injuries, while CJ sustained injuries and is still hospitalized. The family was vacationing in North Carolina to celebrate Casey’s 46th birthday and Father’s Day which fall on the same day.
Casey was an adoring husband to the love of his life Angela, stellar father to his sons Ben and CJ, loyal friend, and courageous firefighter . Always willing to step in and help out, Casey was a highly decorated 16 year veteran of the FDNY who received multiple medals for his bravery, especially during Superstorm Sandy.
This is a catastrophic loss for his wife, children, family, friends and Long Beach community.
Angela, Ben, and CJ have an overwhelming amount of healing ahead of them. We hope to support them by taking away any stress along the way.
Hi all I am Brittany Schutta. My husband Joe has known Casey since childhood and they have been friends throughout. That connection and living in Long Beach brought Angela into my life and our bond has grown ever since. I thank you for taking the time and consideration to read and support Angela and her sons during this difficult time. All donations will go directly to them.
