My cousin Casey Covey was in a head on car accident on Labor Day weekend 2018. Her right foot was almost completely severed and her left leg was also severely damaged. She also had internal injuries and had to have 14 inches of her small intestine removed a week after the accident because of a miss diagnosis at the hospital. As of today she has had 34 surgeries, she is considered medically frail. She can’t walk right now because they just did another surgery to try and fix her right leg and foot so she won’t have to have it amputated.  She has been denied disability even though she has been in and out of the hospital and can’t work. She has had numerous blood clots and many other complications but amazingly she is still here. Thank the lord, she is a sweet positive young lady who has always worked hard and had a positive attitude. Her mom has been working overtime at every opportunity so she can pay Casey’s living expenses. Casey has 3 sons, 2 are still in school. Her mom is the only one helping Casey financially. She is a 35 year old young lady that really needs some help. This summer Casey was leaving a friends apartment when a neighbor was outside looking distraught holding an infant. Because of Casey’s medical training she could see the infant wasn’t breathing. She asked the lady ( who didn’t speak English) if she could see the baby and immediately began CPR. 5 minutes later when the paramedics arrived they said Casey saved the babies life.
