In such uncertain times it's hard to distinguish which illnesses are serious and are in need of medical attention and those that will just pass within a few days.
Casey Knute is without a doubt a very loved and cherished son, brother and uncle as part of a very wonderful family! Recently he has undoubtedly battled his fair share of medical concerns, all in the last about month and a half! About 5 weeks ago he started to have some issues with his foot. He went to Ridgeview hospital multiple times in hope for some help and relief. They gave him some medication in hopes for some healing to take place, as Casey found himself back at the hospital 2 weeks later with what they diagnosed as an infected foot. He was put through a fairly extensive cleanse of the infected foot and put on more medication. Shortly after this happened Casey fell ill and started to feel very unlike himself. He couldn't eat or keep anything down he had eaten, developed a terrible cough and started to loose a bunch of weight. As of today he has lost 16 lbs in 2 weeks! A few days days ago he started having shortness of breathe and really struggling to breathe so his very worried sister brought him back to Ridgeview for immediate help. Shortly after arriving there he was informed he had tested positive for Covid-19 and was going to be staying a few nights in the hospital to recover, as we later found out was a FALSE POSITIVE result. 4 hours later family was informed that Casey was being transported on a ventilator to Abbott Northwestern in the cities! During his stay there going through critical ups and downs, he was finally diagnosed with a very rare disease called BLASTOMYCOSIS. This disease attackd his lungs and potentially more organs resulting in the status he is currently in. He is stable for now but doctors have still commented that Casey is in CRITICAL conditions. With the uncertainty in these troubling and heart wrenching times, the family is reaching out as Casey is also uninsured. All these medical bills are going to be really big and add up quick. These bills are coming out of pocket from his family so we started this Go Fund Me to help support Casey during his healing and take the burden off of him when he returns home.
Casey is one of the most loving and caring people that you could ever meet. He is always willing to help those in need and he is loved by so many. He is the absolute worlds best uncle to all his nieces and nephews as they each have their own special bond with him and unique things the enjoy doing together. As a sister he my absolute best friend and the most loving person I know and couldn't imagine going through life without my best friend! Some of you may know Casey as he currently works at MGM in Chaska where he has worked for many years now as a manager; but previously working at MGM in Chanhassen as well! He loves talking to customers and has the best time meeting new people who come in and enjoy his company. Some customers would come in just to chat with Casey for a bit. All the regulars could tell you what a wonderous personality he has as well! He brightens up any room the minute he walks in and always knows what to say to make the worse day turned around for the good! He is a very family oriented guy, always choosing to spend his free time with them. He loves fishing, riding motorcycles, shooting guns and is very passionate about his job. Casey is very young and has so much more life to live and love to give! He is the most deserving person for this kind of help as Casey has never been one to ask for help from anyone but would cherish and appreciate it beyond any doubt.
Anything we can raise that would help Casey will be greatly appreciated as we are heart broken as a family feeling like there's just something missing with him not being around. The donations will be paid towards his ongoing medical care, treatment, current bills and lost wages! Anything will help!
We as a family thank you in advance for your donations and will keep everything updated going forward.
