A few years ago my niece, Casey, was diagnosed with kidney failure due to a hereditary kidney disease. Casey has recently started to have dialysis treatments, while also taking care of two young children. She has recently found out that her mom is a match and will be her kidney donor. With the new kidney she will be able to live life without the need of the dialysis treatments. To undergo the necessary surgery for the new kidney she will be required to miss 3 months of work. Casey is a very strong and independent woman. She is the kind of person to give to others but never ask for help herself. With her transplant coming up in June we as a family are trying to raise money to help support and alleviate the burden of financial stress she will endure. We are so proud of her for being a great mom while having to go through all the treatments and the stress that comes with.
