I was recently told something no one is ever ready to hear. At my last oncology appointment, my team recommended that I move to “comfort care.”

What that means, in plain terms, is this:
They no longer have treatments intended to slow or reverse the cancer. The focus shifts to managing symptoms and keeping me comfortable.

I understand why they said it. But I’m not ready to accept that.

I’m not done fighting.

I also want to be real about where things stand right now. Over the past 8 weeks, everything has changed. I’ve been living in chronic pain and discomfort. I haven’t been able to train or exercise the way I normally do, and more recently, the cancer growth in my abdomen has started to severely limit how much I can eat and hold down.

The nausea has been relentless. It’s a daily fight just to get in enough food and fluids to function.

I’ve lost around 45 pounds in that stretch.

This has been a complete flip of a switch for me and my family, and not one we were prepared for.

That’s why this next step matters so much.

Over the past three years, I’ve pushed through everything conventional medicine could offer. 70 rounds of chemo, multiple major surgeries, setbacks, small wins, and everything in between. I’ve shown up for all of it.

Now I’m stepping outside of that system.

I’ve connected with a practice in Arizona called Causenta Wellness. Their approach is completely different. Instead of treating symptoms or following a standard protocol, they focus on identifying and targeting the root cause of the illness, then building a personalized plan to reverse the damage that’s been done.

After speaking with Dr. Tom, it felt like a shift. An actual way forward. A real plan built around me, not a generic playbook.

This type of care is very intensive and not covered by insurance. It’s not backed by large hospital systems or pharmaceutical companies. It’s highly personalized, one-on-one, and because of that, it comes with a significant cost.

That’s why we’ve decided to launch this GoFundMe. This is our way of creating a path forward when the traditional one has run out.

I need to be clear. Time is not on our side.

I am doing everything I can to begin treatment as soon as next week.

That’s why I’m asking for help.

Your support will go directly toward:
• Initial testing, treatment, and program costs with Causenta Wellness
• Travel and lodging for care in Arizona
• Ongoing therapies and support as the plan progresses
• If I’m unable to continue treatment, remaining funds will go directly toward supporting my family

My plan is a weekly blog / vlog style update on progress and how the funding is being spent.

If you’re able to contribute, I’m incredibly grateful. If not, sharing this helps more than you know.

I’ve been told what the next chapter is supposed to look like. I’m choosing to write a different one.

Sometimes, you gotta make your own heat…
