At CASA Academy, we say that the road to college starts in kindergarten. We truly believe that each and every one of our students, who we call scholars, is on the road to college, and will be a college scholar one day. At CASA, 96% of our scholars are on free and reduced-price lunch, the national indicator of poverty, 97% of our scholars are students of color, and 65% of our scholars are English Language Learners. Most of the families that we serve do not have access to early childhood education materials and programs, or materials to supplement scholar learning at home once they’ve started school. This means that many of our scholars start kindergarten below grade level, and would continue to fall farther behind if they weren’t enrolled in a school with programs and staff committed to closing the achievement gap.

100% of the funds raised through this campaign will directly go to supporting our scholars' education in a variety of ways. Funds will be used for materials such as new laptops and tablets for scholars, books for our classroom libraries, and classroom supplies such as pencils, markers, and paper that our scholars use on a daily basis to grow their brains. Funds will also be used to support CASA in continuing to provide transportation to our scholars so that scholars can get to and from school every day.
