Casa Lala es Su Casa! As many of you know, we are a Spanish Immersion program run by Marcela "Lala" Tampe, AMI Montessori teacher, with over 15 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Casa Lala has run multiple programs for the past 5 years. As with many other local and "non-essential" small businesses in the area, Casa Lala had to close on March 13th, 2020 unexpectedly. We've had to cancel our afterschool, spring break, and day camps, following government guidelines, and social distancing rules. The program quickly pivoted to offer 100% remote learning, and we were able to offer lessons, videos, and to connect with many of our regular families.
In the current climate, Casa Lala believes that the safest thing will be to postpone the summer camp program for this year, fostering instead a "virtual neighborhood", in an effort to, nevertheless, maintain our children's continuing growth and development. It is with great regret that we have come to this decision, but we are excited by the prospect of providing a new vehicle by which to continue to provide service to the community. We believe this is the best solution during this time of global health and social crises. As always, and no matter the means or format, we want to infuse children's lives with Spanish and engaging materials; as well as to keep the Casa Lala community intact through these difficult times.
This fundraiser will help Casa Lala function and survive, helping us, among other things, to prepare for the unveiling of our "virtual neighborhood" program that will feature virtual lessons accompanied by concrete learning materials delivered to your home in the form of colorful box kits. Our boxes will be ready and the weekly program will be available for you to enroll through your Parent Portal.
Please help support Casa Lala. Your donations will help keep this work of love alive. We are stronger when we all work together.
We can't wait to unveil our "Virtual Neighborhood" as we believe it will bring JOY and EXCITEMENT to the children!!
Thank you so much for your generosity!
“It takes a village.”
