Cary St. Cafe Homeless Run

Every year, on Christmas day, an ever growing number of amazing folks gathers at Cary St. Cafe to prepare boxed lunches and assemble donated home-baked goods, bottled water, toiletries, hot coffee and other items, to deliver to homeless folks all around our city. Our goal is to completely outfit 100 homeless men and women with brand new boots, winter coat, gloves, socks, hat and under clothing. Instead of going to the usual spots, we try to find the ones who typically don't ask for help, the ones who are a little hard to find. We meet some amazing people and spread a lot of love. For most of these folks, this will not only be the only Christmas gifts they will receive, it will most likely be the first new items of clothing they've had in some time. We also include an information sheet to each person we meet that will have detailed instructions on who to call if they need assistance in any way, such as housing, medical treatment, job placement assistance, etc.

There are no strings attached, we all come together from all over the city; religious, non-religious, every race, retired folks, young folks, students, blue collar, white collar workers...with one common goal...to give a few human beings a little bit of love and kindness and dignity on a day where so many have so much and some have nothing.

100% of the money we receive will be used to completely outfit 100 homeless men and women from head to toe with brand new everything!
