As most of you know our loving family member Cary Baker was diagnosed with stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer on April 1, 2019 . As you can imagine, this has been completely devastating to Cary, Jason and our family and friends.
Background on Cary, she 46 years young, she is an amazing wife, mom to 3 girls and Grammy to 2 beautiful grandsons. She is also one of the best most supportive sisters/friend anyone could ask for. Cary has also been a rock in supporting Jason who is in stage 5 kidney failure. She is always there for him, helping him through whatever trials he faces with his dialysis and other health issues he has.
But now Cary is facing her own set of trials. She is currently under going chemo therapy every 15 days which has completely rocked her world. She is sicker than she has ever been, often not being able to leave the house for days after her chemo. Just when she starts to feel a little more human, it's time to go back in for another round. This will continue for 4 months, then she will have a very tough surgery (The Whipple Procedure - look it up if you haven't heard about it), where they will remove the tip of her pancreas, possibly replacing an artery that the tumor is laying up against with an artery from her neck and some lymph nodes in the area. She will come out of surgery with 3 different tubes and the recovery process will be very tough. After surgery she will have to do 2 more months of Chemo.
As you can imagine, financially this is taking a toll on her and Jason. Cary has a high deductible/out of pocket max health plan and because Jason was just put on state disability they no longer have "2 incomes" to help pay for her treatments/surgery. So we are hoping to raise as much money as we can to take some of the financial burden off of her. It's bad enough that she has to deal with the emotional burden of having cancer.
Please help Cary through this awful time in her life. Any little bit helps and will not go unappreciated.
