Help Us Finish Our New Zealand Documentary — A Film to Inspire Kids Around the World

In early 2025, our family spent a month in New Zealand to film a documentary about Carter Metcalfe, a 13-year-old mountain biker whose journey with severe Tourette Syndrome has inspired millions online.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of this community, we were able to raise over $4,000 through GoFundMe, and with the help of amazing partners like Onewheel, Western Pipe Fabrication, Thread Wallets, and MERGE4 Socks, we reached an additional $6,000. That support got us on the ground in New Zealand and made this film possible.

Now, the filming is complete.

What This Film Is About

This film isn’t just about biking, it’s about resilience.

Just over a year ago, Carter was diagnosed with severe Tourette Syndrome. It flipped his world upside down. He battled tics so strong he could barely function, faced bullying at school, and felt completely isolated.

But then he found mountain biking.

And everything changed.

Riding became his therapy.

The trail became his safe place.

And sharing his story online began inspiring millions of kids and parents around the world.

This documentary follows Carter as he returns to the homeland of his grandfather, rides with some of New Zealand’s most talented young riders, connects with his Maori roots, and shares his story with kids across the country. It’s a film about turning challenges into opportunities, honoring family heritage, and finding strength in community.

Our dream is to get this film into festivals, schools, events, streaming platforms, and into the hands of as many kids as possible who need encouragement and hope.
