Carter’s club feet journey
Donation protected
My nephew, Carter Joseph Grim, was born on August 3, 2021. He was born with a condition called, bilateral club feet. Which simply means, both feet are turned. However, that did mean several weekly trips to Chicago to see a specialist, that put casts on Carter’s legs and feet to help correct this condition, to give him the best possible outcome. After numerous trips back and forth, several
sleepless nights, due to the cast changes, and Carter not liking the repositioning that the Doctor would put his feet into; they then had to do a minor surgery. Although, it was minor in nature, it was still a very big deal to all of our family, as he is just a tiny baby and we are so concerned as to how this will all turn out. Following the surgery he upgraded to the bar and boots. That being said, we are having difficulties with his foot positioning in his new boots. Ashley has been so concerned and contacted the Doctor, while still making bi-weekly visits to Chicago. The Doctor had her reach out to the physician who actually made the bar concept in Florida. She was confident he would have the answers she was seeking, however, instead of getting answers, he stated he needed to see Carter in person and do his own adjustments to correct things, to again, have the best possible outcome. As we know, we would do anything we can for our children, and Ashley and Alex certainly will. Their insurance, thankfully, will cover most of the cost for the physician and adjustments…etc, however, Ashley will be required to stay with Carter in Florida for 3 weeks and that cost will weigh solely on them. She will be out of work, need to cover all expenses of hotel and food, etc… So I have set up this Go Fund Me page in hopes to help them curve these expenses. They would never ask for help, but I am asking for them. Thank you all for your support.
