Carter's Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
I would like to make a heartfelt plea on behalf of a courageous family that is going through an unimaginably difficult time. Their 3-year-old child, Carter, was born with a rare and critical blood disorder called, Cooley’s Anemia (or Beta Thalassemia Major). For two years, Carter required monthly blood transfusions. He desperately required a life-saving bone marrow transplant and was fortunate to have an older brother who was a perfect match.
This critical procedure offered the best chance for a positive outcome and a future filled with hope. However, it also comes with an overwhelming financial burden for the family. Carter underwent a successful transplant on August 10th after weeks in the hospital for necessary pre-transplant chemotherapy. Medical bills, specialized treatments, ongoing hospital stays, and the cost of post-transplant care are just a few of the many expenses that are accruing. Additionally, the parents have had to take an extended leave from work to be by their child's side during this trying time. His mom, Alyssa Hall, is the Fleet Production Manager at the ATL Airport Region. We have the unique opportunity to make a significant difference in their lives by offering our emotional and financial support. Together, we can help ease the financial burden on this family, allowing them to focus solely on their child's recovery. No matter how small, every contribution will make a meaningful difference in their lives.
