HI! My name is Carter Sumrall (pie) ! I made my surprise appearance October 14, 2024 at 6 weeks early! My mom and dad, Courtney and Scott Sumrall, are my most favorite people in the world! In early January I was home with mommy when she noticed I was not acting like my normal self. We rushed to the er and ran a bunch of tests. The doctors said that I was having seizures, but they could not figure out what was causing them. I ended up having a spend the night party at the hospital for a about a week. I was sent home on some medications hoping they would stop the seizures. I was doing great, but about a week later mommy noticed i was not acting like myself again. We went back to the er hoping to find out what was causing my seizures. I had to stay again for monitoring and medication adjustments. Thankfully on January 25th I was about to go home with my mommy and daddy!!!! After another week of being home mommy noticed that I was having more seizures and they were progressing. She took me to Batson. They did more and more tests that determined that I am also having brain spasms. I have a long road a head of me full of tests, medications, and hospitals. Since I require around the clock observation and care my mommy can not go back to work. My parents are relying solely on my dads income to support us.

This is a very scary and unknown time in our lives right now. We do not know what the future holds, and we are hoping to alleviate some of the financial stress that all of this is having on Courtney and Scott. Thank you so much for all of the love and prayers!
