Carter & Karleigh need your help: life-threatening burns on their faces, heads and bodies

Carter Bean from Freeland, MI and Karleigh Zmikly from Sanford, MI (boyfriend and girlfriend) were in a horrible offroading accident on April 3, 2022. The vehicle became engulfed in flames, flipped, and the two were trapped until they were luckily pulled out, just before the vehicle exploded. Their long time friends, Zac and Chad Chichester saved their lives – Chad even took serious burns himself pulling them out of the vehicle.

Both Carter and Karleigh sustained life-threatening burns on their heads, necks, faces and bodies and were airlifted to local hospitals. They are both sedated and on ventilators, facing several surgeries to address their immediate medical needs, and multiple more to try to rescue them from the extreme burns covering their faces and bodies. Each will spend several months recovering from their injuries.

They are in such bad shape that neither family can bear to share a photo of their current state. Trust us when we say: we need a miracle.

Carter and Karleigh are only 22 and 23 years old. They were beautiful, wonderful people with bright futures that are now in jeopardy. Our families are devastated and doing everything in our power to support them. We are reaching out to our entire communities to send prayer, energy, and strength to them, but unfortunately, they need more to live anywhere close to normal lives again. Insurance covers only a part of the extremely expensive surgeries and treatments that lie ahead. This could cost anywhere from $500,000 to more than $1 million. Sadly, neither family is in a financial position to bear that cost.
