Carter is my nephew. He’s 11. After a long and grueling few days we have found out that he was diagnosed with a DIPG brain tumor. We were told that there is no treatment and no cure. Radiation can help shrink the tumor some and he will feel better for a while, but it will return and be aggressive. We are broken in so many ways. Total devastation is the only word that comes to mind and we are pleading for a miracle. Carter was able to come home last night and is needing around the clock care. He is currently unable to see well, walk or stand, or eat (the tumor is in the part of the brain that is controlling all of these functions) without assistance and needing to be monitored 24/7. The house is currently not able to accommodate his wheelchair or walker as well. There is no ramp. We've had so much love and an outpouring of support and a want to help them financially for updates to the house, treatment costs, trips for treatments, planning for the future provided all efforts exhausted are unsuccessful, supplementing income and fulfilling dreams for one of the most wonderful human beings I've ever had the honor of loving and being loved back by. The title is Carter IS a Gryffindor because our family loves Harry Potter. He took a test and found out he was Hufflepuff and was crushed because he wanted to be a Gryffindor. We usually do Harry Potter Month with a feast and everything at my house in September but we are doing it this month again. We will be sorting him into Gryffindor because they are BRAVE. They are COURAGOUS. They are GALIANT. And he is every ounce of what that means. #youllstaywithme #untiltheveryend #fightlikecarter
