Hi, my name is Kelly and I am helping Carter to raise funds to attend a Real Madrid soccer camp in Spain that he has been selected for. I have known Carter since he was born and he and his mom have come through some rough times. One thing that Carter has managed to hang onto is his love for soccer. Please read their story below and let’s help Carter to make a wonderful memory.
Help Carter Chase His Soccer Dream in Madrid, Spain !⚽
We’re reaching out with hearts full of hope to ask for your help in making a life-changing dream come true for a remarkable young man — Carter.
Carter, (from Victoria, B.C), has been selected to attend an elite soccer training camp in Madrid, Spain, March 2026. An incredible opportunity that reflects his hard work, dedication, and passion for the game. This is a once-in-a-lifetime invitation — due to age restrictions, this is Carter’s only chance to attend!
A Story of Resilience and Determination
The road here hasn’t been easy. Over the past six years, Carter and his mom, Kimberly, have faced unimaginable challenges — fleeing an abusive relationship, relocating multiple times, and enduring an ongoing court battles. Through it all, Carter’s mom — a single parent living on disability — has done everything she can to keep him safe and supported.
Despite these hardships, Carter has always remained active and focused. His love for soccer has been a source of strength and healing.
Since returning to Victoria, Carter has poured his heart into soccer, using it as an outlet to heal from trauma, manage extreme anxiety, and navigate the effects of Complex-PTSD.
⚽ Why This Camp Matters
This isn’t just a soccer camp. It’s a transformational experience — one that will allow Carter to train with world-class coaches, build confidence, grow as an athlete and person, and take a meaningful step toward his dreams. It represents hope, healing, and the payoff of years of perseverance.
❤A Life of Giving — Now Asking for Help
If you know Kimberly, you know that she has always been on the giving side — not the receiving. Since she was a child, she’s devoted her time and energy to fundraising and community work.
She’s:
• Raised money for World Vision, 30-Hour Famines, and yearly Christmas hampers both locally and internationally.
• Organized community events, supported local families in crisis and women shelters
• Helped fund sports and send kids to a fully-paid summer hockey camp — twice
• Funded a literacy program to a local elementary school within a small community
• Volunteered for many events, PAC and school fundraisers, level 3 first aid attendant
Now, she finds herself on the other side, humbly asking for help to give her son the opportunity he’s worked so hard for.
Our Goal: $10,000 to cover:
• Flights to and from Madrid
• Camp registration and training fees
• Travel insurance and necessary expenses
Every dollar brings Carter closer to the field in Madrid — and to a future filled with possibility.
