In October 2025, 12 year old Carter McArthur from Raleigh, North Carolina was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer.

Since that day, Carter and his family have been facing a journey filled with challenges, strength, and hope. After three months of intensive chemotherapy, Carter underwent major surgery in February 2026 to remove the top of his femur, which was replaced with a titanium rod.

He is now learning to walk again while continuing another four months of chemotherapy to ensure the cancer is fully gone. If everything continues on track, his treatment is expected to be complete by early summer.

Through it all, Carter has shown incredible resilience. He loves fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. His positive outlook and determination have inspired everyone around him and brought a community together in support of his fight.

The Carter Classic is our community coming together to support Carter and the McArthur family. This charity golf tournament will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2026 at The Club at 12 Oaks in Holly Springs, North Carolina. It is a day to show up, stand beside this family, and help ease the burden so they can focus on Carter’s healing.

One hundred percent of all funds raised will go directly to the McArthur family. Donations will help cover medical expenses, travel to and from Duke University Hospital, time away from work, and everyday living costs that continue during treatment.
