Carson's Road to Recovery: Your Support Matters
Donation protected
This past Saturday night, August 16th, Carson was doing what he loved most, living out his cowboy dreams at Pond Hill Ranch in Poultney, VT. As many of you know, bull riding is one of the most dangerous sports that you can do. Without fear, Carson strapped onto his bull Saturday night, hoping to continue his victory streak in 1st place of the APRA Championship Series. While riding, Carson had an unfortunate accident where his head forcefully made contact with the bulls horn, and was immediately was knocked unconscious. Carson was rushed to an area hospital where he was stabilized, sedated, and intubated, but it became apparent that he needed a Level 1 Trauma Center. Carson was then airlifted to the University of Vermont Med Center. Carson sustained a substantial Traumatic Brain Injury. His neurological team is working to fiercely to wean him off of sedation and to get stronger. Not only does Carson have a long hard road of recovery ahead of him, as of now, he will be staying in UVM's Neurological ICU for at least 3 weeks. Carson’s strength, motivation, determination and self confidence is unmatched. He truly loves what he does and does everything with a passion! Carson works at Ballard Mack as a Diesel Technician where he is greatly loved by his coworkers/employers.
The days, weeks and ahead are uncertain, but we do know this, recovering from a TBI is a long, difficult journey, and the challenges of him not being able to work creates a financial strain. While our family is supporting him in every way. This will be a pretty penny.
Every donation will go toward medical bills, travel, and living expenses while he fights to recover. If you can’t donate, please just keep Carson in your thoughts and prayers, and share this page to spread his story.
On his birthday, there is no greater gift than knowing he has a village standing behind him.
We try to update as much as possible while knowing what he would and would not what others to know. We ask everyone to be patient during this time.
