This little man, Carson, is 5 years old tomorrow, May 29th, and needs our help!
Any donation will assist this little man with a safe place to play outside, receive amazingly effective therapy, and pay for any and all bills that result in his journey as he breaks through any challenges in his way!
At 2 years old, Carson was diagnosed as being non-verbal and having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It was recommended that he start ABA therapy as soon as possible. ABA therapy is a type of therapy that can improve social skills, communication, and learning through positive reinforcement. There is some controversy surrounding ABA therapy however, Carson has been fortunate enough to have been matched with an amazing group of therapists in a natural playing style.
During his ABA therapy over the past 2 ½ years, his parents have experienced much growth and happiness emerge in his behavior, social skills, and ability to share his knowledge.
The power to share his knowledge is an outcome that his family was not sure they would ever experience. Let's keep Carson's development growing!!

To say the least, Carson's mom and dad and BEST EVER big sister have had an adventurous 5 years as they keep up with Carson. He is one of the most loveable, silly, sensory-seeking, little tricksters you will ever meet. He keeps everyone on their toes by trying to keep up with him, learning his cues, and joining in on his unpredictable shenanigans.
Our goal with this fundraiser is to raise enough money for an outdoor specialized playset, installation, landscaping/rubber mulch, and any other costs assisting Carson's advancement through his [lifetime] therapy and development.
Carson's Mom and Dad Share his Challenges:
"One of the major areas we need to focus on is Carson's safety. We want to prioritize his safety while ALSO encouraging him to play and socialize with others. Our neighborhood park is a bit intimidating for Carson as it is much taller, comes with many distractions, and can become so crowded. He can become scared or shut down negating any progress he has made that day or even week.
The environment at the local park makes it extremely hard to conduct therapy there. We are looking to purchase a specialized playset for our backyard where Carson can practice his skills during in-home therapy sessions to build the confidence needed to be on larger structures in a social setting in the future."
As parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends, and on (we can't nearly name them all!), we know even simple playsets can be very expensive. With Carson's needs, a readily available playset is not sufficient. Many of the sets have weight limits that would restrict his therapists and parents from going on the set with him. Playsets that accommodate Carson's therapy and ongoing support are almost 4x the price of a regular set.
By purchasing a set for Carson, his family will be able to encourage more interactive playing skills, show him how to use the obstacles, and introduce him to social interactions that his therapists and family can monitor while being on the playset near him. They will be able to use the methods that work best for him including, but not limited to; hand over hand, visuals, and going through the motions with him.
Carson has a select number of programs that will teach him how to safely use the equipment while working on the following:
1. Safety with drop-off edges
2. Reaching/grabbing certain structures to get up and down the set
3. Using certain muscle groups like jumping and swinging
4. Sensory input/output that his body seeks through swinging, playing in the sand, and stomping all over the structure
LET'S DO THIS FOR CARSON!
If we are able to raise the funds for this playset it will provide a safe and private area for Carson to learn new skills, build confidence, and develop more awareness around safety concerns. Once Carson develops these skills at home, he can begin applying them to their neighborhood park and school furthering his growth and advancement.
With more and more confidence, bravery, and awareness, Carson can focus on more social interactions while improving his relationship and communication with his parents and sister!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for reading Carson's story. Please share his story if you feel the calling, we are all in this together!
