Carson is a little kitten with a big personality, who at only six weeks would run around and eat a full can of food for one meal, chomping ankles as they passed before curling up for a long lap cat nap. On Friday, we noticed his energy begin to flag and his appetite disappear. He huddled in his carrier among the blankets and didn't come out for snuggles.
We rushed him to the veterinary ER, where they saw him immediately and noted that he had labored breathing and an elevated temperature. They quickly put him in an oxygen chamber, where his levels were low enough that the doctor advised us to keep him overnight
The good news is that his condition didn't worsen over his first few hours in the hosptial. We're not sure what to expect next, but we do know we'll do all we can to get him comfy and stable. This means we're looking at a low-end estimated bill of $2,526.55. This covers an overnight stay at VERG, x-ray, IV, oxygen, blood testing, and in-house medication for a 24hr period of care. It is possible he'll need to stay longer, in which case that number will go up.
We are rooting for Carson to make a full recovery and get back to his regularly scheduled ankle chomps! Any and all donations help!
